Fall 2020: What's New + What's Back!

As we head into Fall and the warm weather slips away, the leaves begin falling, the colors change, and time moves back an hour, we also move into the season of our Fall menu! This year, we’re bringing back a few favorites, like our Soup of the Day and introducing some new items like Birria Tacos! Take a look at what you can expect on October 28 (Nov 4 in Columbus) :

NEW veg+vegan Options

Tacos de Portobello

If you have the choice of shrimp or fish, why not have the choice of cauliflower or portobello?

We’re pumped to be offering a new Taco de Portobello, prepared like our delicious Taco de Coliflor with smoked cashew salsa and pumpkin seed pesto but with a cilantro-grilled portobello mushroom! This has been secretly ordered by some of our team members for a little while now, so we’re excited for the option to be available!

Veggie Cazuela Upgrade!

Here’s a hint… we really love Portobellos. They’ve stolen the spotlight this Fall. We’ve been searching for something ‘meaty’ to add some additional sustenance to our Veggie Cazuela and grilled portobello does the job perfectly. Now when you order a Portobello Cazuela, it will come with the familiar fajita veggies AND some delicious portobello too!

TO SHARE

…Because it’s the best way to try new things

Queso Fundido con Portobello

So, it’s a simple as this. You’ve either had our Queso Fundido or you haven’t. If you haven’t, you are missing out and we really suggest you try it. Continue reading for our tips! If you have, you probably know your current options are pretty traditional: with poblano peppers or with poblano and chorizo. Both delicious options.

We now have another drool-worthy option (especially for our vegetarian friends, but not exclusively for them). While we still love our Queso Fundido with poblanos and chorizo, we experimented with adding grilled portobellos with poblano… and let us tell you. It’s balanced, smoky from the grilled portobello, and the perfect new app to share with your pals. Just trust us. Remember, you can always order one of each!

Camarones con Chile y Limon

Usually available in the summer, we’ve decided to bring our Camarones con Chile y Limon back this Fall to replace our Coctel de Camaron. They’re irresistable and the perfect starter to munch on while you drink your margarita. Just remember, it’s #2020, so no double dipping in the habanero-avocado mayo! 😉

To Drink

Speaking of 2020, is it time for a drink yet? Our drink menu sees a lot less change than our food menu, but this year we have some new additions that will help you warm up and enjoy the season!

Maracolada

Inspired by Holbox, a tiny tropical island in Mexico, our Maracolada features spiced rum, passionfruit , cinnamon simple syrup, coconut milk, orange bitters, and just a dash of fresh nutmeg. It’s like a Pina Colada but better and has little hints of cinnamon and spice reminiscent of the upcoming holidays. Don’t even get us started on the unsweetened coconut rim!

Pasado de Moda

We know your go-to is a margarita, but sometimes you just need something classic. Our Pasado de Moda is our take on your typical old fashioned. Made with Chipotle Tanteo Tequila instead of Bourbon, it features Piloncillo Syrup (essentially Mexican brown cane sugar syrup) giving it a taste reminiscent of molasses. Finished with an orange peel and a nice cold cube, it’s pairs perfectly with our new Birria Tacos!

We’ve already mentioned our new Tacos de Portobello… but we have one more surprise:

Tacos de Birria

Popular in Jalisco, MX, Tacos de Birria are typically prepared with braised goat. Here, we use braised lamb leg and serve it in a crispy grilled adobo tortilla with fundido cheese, cilantro, and onions. Served with a watercress, red onion salad and a spicy habanero salsa! You’ve got to try these!
